Vyanj

A progressive Indian dining experience within The Primo Collective, where heirloom grains, open-fire techniques, and a reinterpretation of regional Indian cuisine find their spatial and brand expression..

Vyanj is a progressive Indian vegetarian restaurant at The Primo by Mann and Salwa, Ahmedabad, completing the trio of concept-led dining experiences alongside Sora and Sāhtain.

Storm's scope covered the complete brand identity and spatial design from first concept to built environment. The brand narrative, born of fire, rooted in earth, shaped by grain, set the design direction for everything that followed. The Vyanj wordmark was custom drawn with a deliberately distinctive character, rooted in Indian typographic tradition but redrawn for a contemporary fine dining context.

The spatial design draws from the material language of ancient India, arched stone alcoves referencing vernacular architecture, suspended brass disc installations echoing the patinated surfaces of historical craft, warm terracotta and aged marble anchoring the palette. The ceiling installation of layered brass discs creates a canopy of light that shifts across the dining room, a reference to the ceremonial metalwork traditions of India translated into a contemporary architectural gesture.

Together the identity and the interior tell the same story. Progressive Indian cuisine has a home that looks like it means it.

Design Intent

To design a space and identity where the philosophy of the cuisine is physically present. Where the material choices, the typographic decisions, and the spatial gestures all speak the same language as the food on the plate.

Born of fire. Rooted in earth. Shaped by grain.

Independent by brief. Connected by philosophy.
